You Do Like Fish!!!!! Arghhh!!!!
Okie. Had two days off, done NOTHING! Well, I did look at digital cameras yesterday and should be getting one next week. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post a lot more pictures on the internet (i.e. here!). I need to delve into the guts of the website and fix a few things. Once I have Dreamweaver, I want to bring some more colour into the site and freshen things up a bit before the big redesign. Tommy and I went out for a few drinks last night. We had a really good time and got quite hammered. At Mama’s I was sitting beside a guy called Takayuki, this guy was a living legend. He initially seemed quite impressed with the size of me. However, he quickly moved on to wanting me to sing the words to "Yesterday" by The Beatles, which I dutifully did (I was half-pissed). After this he spent the rest of the night trying to persuade me that I really did like fish, he failed in this. However, he took solace from forcing more drink down my throat as a substitute. Tommy was keeping pace with me and as a result we both got minced. Takayuki even paid the bill at the end of the night which we couldn’t talk him out of. Japan is a very strange place sometimes. As an aside, in a major achievement last night, we found an izakaya that serves PINTS!!!!!!!! Indeed they seem bigger than a pint! Excellent stuff. Back to work tomorrow. should be good fun. Wednesday's is guy's day (until the new girl arrives), so it's just Tommy, Luke and me. There is a new instructor arriving on the 24th of February, she's from Canada. So hopefully it will be fun showing someone new around.2.02.2004
Hey Hey, My My
Rock and roll will never die! Been listening to Neil Young and trying to get inspiration. Probably hasn't worked. Well things have moved on a bit since Jan 13th. I bought a computer two weeks ago today! I should try not to be materialistic but I can't help it!! It's been a dream to own my own PC, and now I have one. LIFE ROCKS! Nearly. Things are ticking over quite swimmingly here. Once I get a hold of Dreamweaver I plan to redevelop this site. It should be live by 2010.1.23.2004
Six Months Today!
Can you believe it? Six months in Japan - it's daft! It doesn't feel like I have been here half a year. Anyway my days off are Monday and Tuesday - I'll write more then and explain why I ma online at such weird times!1.13.2004
Whatever!
Check this out! Thanks to Ed for the link. Remember this? These links should be treated with care, there is bad language involved. OK things here are still good. My friends June and Dave had a baby boy!!!!! Welcome Alex Savage!!!!! And congratulations to June and Dave - I know'll they be wonderful parents. I get paid on Thursday - can't wait for that!! Christmas and New Year was kinda expensive.1.05.2004
And we are BACK!!
After technical difficulties kept me off the air for two months I have returned. Time is short at the Internet cafe so I'll have to leave the update till next week. Untill then remember to check the photo blog.11.03.2003
Let the good times roll!!!
How's it going? Just a note to let you know that I have added a "moblog" to my website. This allows me to take pictures from my cool Japanese mobile and email them with a post to the internet. Check here, rather swanky ain't it? Things are still going gangbusters here, it's all pretty good. My boss got married on Saturday so congratulations mate (and Mrs. Mate). Tommy and I are arranging a house party for next week for all the folks from work so I am really looking forward to that, it should be great fun. Right, remember to check the new blog for more info!10.27.2003
Nihongo wa wakarimasen!!
Yep, that's right I don't speak Japanese! Nama beiru, kudasai! Well maybe a little then ("a draft beer please" BTW). Life here is pretty dandy, it's still too hot to wear a jacket during the day, it's lovely and sunny today and life is good - what more can I ask for? I phoned Bonnie Scotland last night and had a chat to my Granddad and Mother (I also spoke to Bryan - my brother - earlier in the week) everyone is fine - my Grandad wasn't very well last week but sounds much better now. Tommy and I are supposedly going to an Isakaya (a Japanese bar/restaurant) tonight so I am looking forward to that. I bought a load of clothes the other day so I am looking forward to them arriving. Higashi-Hiroshima was fantastic and I had such a good time. We ate out a lot and I tried so much Japanese food - it was fantastic and easily the best time I have had in Japan! So mega thanks to Trev, Keiko and Kiyo! There is one final thing I have to do, so excuse the shouting:GRANDDAD LISTEN TO MY MUM, GET THE HEARING AID CHECKED OUT!
He he he! :o)10.07.2003
Life Is A Motorway
Time flies, I'm back to work tomorrow after two days off. Next week is gonna be tough because I have to work seven days in a row, however, after that I am off to Hiroshima!!!! Yey!!! Everytime I get here I forget what I wanna say ...... Ahh ... I have email on my Japanese phone andyman@jp-n.ne.jp my phone won`t accept HTML mail so none of that please. OK I'm gonna go again, drop me a line especially if you are a young Japanese lady!!!! :o)10.04.2003
Shit!
I really should watch my language seeing as Mummy has been seen onsite! It's been a mega few months - I am now over two months into my little adventure! It's been so great over here. The Japanese are super super nice. I haven't even felt that homesick ....... yet! Tommy my flatemate is as cool as ****. Work is great we have a really small school with nice students. It's all good you'll be glad to hear. I'll write more soon.7.29.2003
And Here I Am!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry this wont be a long one, been on this internet cafe machine too long already!!! I got here safe and sound, if a little tired! The flight was monotonous, but pretty cool at take off and landing!! Taught my first students today and the job should be ok. I was at the A-Bomb dome and peace memorial the other day, very poiniant (sp????) and thought provoking! I'll write more later.7.13.2003
Next Stop Osaka?????
OK, I just realised that I haven't posted in a loooooooong time, so if you are wondering what I mean by "next stop Osaka" welp I'm off to Japan to teach conversational English for at least a year. What can I say, it's an amazing opportunity and I am over the moon/thrilled/orgasmic to be going! So I leave a week on Tuesday (22/7/2003). Still haven't really started to crap myself yet but it is sure to come! ;o)
Sainsbury's NO MORE!!!!
Goodbye JS, hello life!!!! Yes, yours truely has resigned from J Sainsbury's PLC! Next stop Osaka! I can't explain how happy I am!!!! Well ....... FUC*ING DELIGHTED (sorry Mum) comes close.4.05.2003
My Nan
My Nan died today after a long and very brave fight against Parkinson's Disease. She was such a massive part of our lives ot seems impossible to consider life without her presence. In over twenty years of fighting illness she never once complained at her predicament or asked "why me?", she'll be an inspiration for the rest of my life.

Poor doggy!
I am currently getting quite excited! The beta demo of Championship Manager 4 comes out on friday. CM is the only computer game I have ever player regularly, sure I've had the odd game of Sim City et al but Championship Manager is the only game I truely love playing.
And now the fourth version of the game is almost here! Think ne Harry Potter books or new Star Wars film and you may be getting close to my level of excitement!!
Apart from being an excitable little boy concerning computer games I got my Higher English prelim back today, I got 59%, which I'd hope to improve on with the benifit of extra time and a PC in the exam. So maybe I can get a B!!!
Which reminds me - Must complete the GTTR application form!

Is it February already??
How are you all? Things are OK here. I was off work for 4 weeks in January cos I had a toenail removed - boy did it hurt! I have at least one week of holidays to take next month so I'm pretty pleased.
My Mum is jetting off to Tenerife in April which gives me a free house for a week and a car!
Higher English is turning into a major bore, I mean really! Why do I have to be able to identify nuances in poetry in order to teach chemistry? Obviously my technical english is pretty good after all I have a degree that required me to do quite a few long essays!
I got a new phone last month and promptly had it stolen 12 days later, bummer! Anyway £25 later and I got a replacement.

There Are No Endings, Only New Beginnings
So it's a new year. I wonder what I will be doing this time next year. Will I be working in a better job? Will I be doing my teacher training? What will I feel about the year just past?
Anyway, the year 2002 has flown by. What did it herald for me? Well, not very much really. I have a hearing aid now, I have started higher english in the hope of going to Murray House next year. A year of stasis then.
So what goals do I want to achieve this year? Well I want to progress professionally, whether that be a real job or more preferably by starting teacher training. I would also like to have tried to learn how to play my guitar. I wanna have a crack at writing also, I have wanted to write some stories for a while and, needless to say, not gotten round to it.
Oh yeah, I also wanna be a 15 stone *P*O*R*N* model!
Once again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May Your Smile Shine On
If I remember what I am doing, this should be my first post to my Journal in 4 months.
I hope every one had a nice Christmas. It's not been the greatest Christmas here, there been quite a lot of sad things happen. My Uncle Sandy (my Mum's cousin) died on Saturday 21 Dec after a short battle against lung cancer. I've been visiting him and my Aunt Win in Aberdeen all my life and saw them more often when I stayed in the granite city. When I first moved to Aberdeen we went to see them to let them know I was in town. While we were chatting Sandy said to me "You are welcome to visit whenever you want. If there's food in the fridge you can eat what you want, if there isn't you can starve with the rest of us". Such generousity and kindness has left a permanent mark on me, as an example of how people should treat each other.
My Grandad's dog Sandy slipped a disc in his neck on Christmas Eve. The vet said the situation was pretty grim but gave him a large dose of anti-inflamatories in the hope that Sandy could get better. He did improve but by yesterday it was obvious that he was in a serious amount of pain and he had to be put to sleep. Sandy was the most amazing dog I have ever met. My Grandparents adopted him from a friend. He seemed immediately aware of my Nan's disability and was always careful with her and awae of how to treat her. He loved nothing more than being petted and you had to sit down as soon as you got in the door so he could jump on you lap to say hello and get a clap. It is a tragic loss, he was inseperable from my Grandad and the only real reason that my grandad ventured out of the house.
Anyway, let's hope next year is a better year. Although, personally speaking, I am sad to say that I doubt it.
Happy New Year

Wow! Two posts in a month??
Well well well. What's been going down?Hearing Aid
I should be getting a hearing aid (if Sainsbury's cough up the money!). My hearing has been annoying me more and more recently. It also causes me a fair amount of stress trying to decipher what people are saying to me. I didn't understand the way speech was constructed until I talked with the audiologist at my Mum's work and it appears that with my hearing loss I can "miss" parts of words, specifically p, t s's and the like because they are high pitch noises (I have high pitch hearing loss in both ears).
Ed's Visit
Ed's coming to visit next weekend, it will be so cool to catch up with the frequenter of GAY bars!
Higher English
I'm going back to school!!!!! Infact I was there this week to register for my nightclass. It was so cool to see quite a few of my old teachers (special mention to Mr Robson - the school librarian). And bearing in mind I hate that new class thing (where I feel like a stoopid git in a group of strange people) I was exstatic to find out that Claire whom I used to work beside is also gonna be taking the class. Janet reckons we wont get any work done from talking! Who ME????
Anyway, that's about all for now. I may post back in the next few days, depending on how things pan out.

Taking care of business
What did I tell you? ........ August! Righty, nowt much has happened, work is still fairly uninspiring. I was on holiday (it rained like fuck!!) and not much else really. I went to see a show with Mike yesterday, BoomChicago was so funny! As anyone who's turned on a TV recently will know Elvis died 25 years ago, he is the king of rock and roll!!!!!7.08.2002
Did I mention the "Ed" incident involving the GAY club?
Howdy y'all! Once a month?? Once a month is all I can manage to do this thing? I dunno, I think if we got our internet connection sorted out to anytime (I won't hold my breath) I would remember to do this a lot more, as it is we have an off peak deal meaning that I come home from hell sort out a few downloads and then it is bed time *YAWN*.
Holidays in May were pretty good. I went to Aberfoyle. My Mum came up with me till the Monday and came back on the Friday. However, on Monday night the resort had a whisky tasting night. Now I'm fond of a wee dram, so my Mum suggested that I go along seeing as it was my first night by myself.
I bummed around most of Monday (my Mum left in the morning) and before I knew it it was six o'clock and whisky tasting time. So I went across before I had my tea. I wasn't actually to sure of going cos I'm not the best mixer among strangers, so when I arrived and couldn't see anything I headed for the bar "so I didn't look like a prick" standing around waiting on nothing. After I got my guiness I remembered where the whisky tasting was and headed up there. I picked a seat at the back and in a row that was empty and seeing as it was after six I reckoned I would be pretty safe and be unable to make a tit of myself.
However, after the guy started his presentation a group of english arrived to join and sat beside me, "OK" I thought at least I'll be more involved in the group. The woman that sat next to me was a motormouth and already half bladdered but she was coming out with some funny comments. As it turned out we were getting to taste several whiskeys and the rest of her group did like the nectar so were just lobbing the drams in her glass (they were not small measures!!!!) so by three whiskys in she was blootered! Eventually she starts chatting to me and giving me half her drink, I could already feel the guiness and whisky and with her plastered and feeding me with drink the end of the session was rather hazy, she was quite funny. She was an older lady with a large chest, I know, cos she leaned over to chat to the guy in front of us and all but dumper her tits on my leg!
Afterwards we retrired for drinkies at the bar which ended up with one of th eguys trying to stand up but falling over. I went back to the the appartment and woke up after midnight.
If I had written this post two months ago I'm sure it would have been as funny as that night was.
Anyway, see you in august! :o)

Did I say I was back?????
OK, sorry for not being very regular with the blogging but I am now on holidays from the shit hole (sorry, Sainsburys) and have a little extra time. A few things have been happening, as you may or may not know I am 25 on Friday, this coincides nicely with a hopeful thrashing for engerlund at footie and my Nan was in hospital but got out today (Tuesday).
Vanesa's bro Dami was taken ill with peritonitis and ended up in hospital, get well soon Dami! That, however, means I haven't heard much from Vanesa, I hope things get better for her soon, it's not been an easy year for her.
The Supernaturals long awaited new album "What We Did Last Summer" was released on Monday, it is a fantastic album and I love it. It is such a pity that todays music scene means the album has as much chance of making the charts as Lonnie Donegan!
I am applying for a new job at Sainsbury's as a store greeter, I think this job would utilise my naturals talents better i.e. I am a gob shite. I am also gonna apply to become a bus driver, the first step in my master plan to get a decent job. My Mum also recently found a recruitment agency website so I'm gonna try my luck there.
I'm gonna rework the intro to this site cos I am bored with the old one, however it may take a while to reach the top of my "to do" list.
Right, here are a few things that I wanna mention:
Sixties music : I always loved sixties music (thanks to my Dad for that!), anyway, I have recently found that there are very few albums coming out that inspire me to buy them, so I have decided when I have the money to spend I'm gonna buy greatest hits albums of sixties bands (The Troggs, The Stones, The Beach Boys, The Hollies, Gerry and The Pacemakers and The Animals to name but a few!!!!)
True Love Never Dies by Flip 'n' Fill : Am I turning into an old romantic? Well, I dunno but this song is amazing, check it out!
The Queen's Golden Jubilee : Now my socialist side dislikes the idea of a monarchy but I also think the alternative is a pretty awful thought (an elected president) with all the corruption that would bring (look at the USA!). I like that we have an independent head of state. Anyway, I digress, in my eyes the monarchy is far from perfect, however I have been impressed by the way that the Royal family has conducted itself during this difficult year. Anyway the party at the palace (see below) was magnificent and was the defining moment of the celebrations and I think the Queen deserved every moment of it. I was born on the Silver Jubilee so it was quite strange watching the TV footage of it thinking "that was the day I was born!!". So well done Elizabeth I of Scotland ;o)
Party At The Palace : FANTASTIC!!! Absolutely brilliant, ignoring those terrible "Kumar" women, there wasn't anything bad about it. Brian May even made "God Save The Queen" sound cool! AND Ozzy Osborne playing Buckingham Palace!!! WOW LOL It was reported that the palace Corgis were kept out his way, just brilliant. Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, Eric Clapton and Joe Cocker all fantastic! It was a fabulous night in front of the box with a few beers.
Dreamer by Ozzy Osborne : Check out this song! Very John Lennon in sentiment but superb, it amazes me this man can still sing considering he seems to have so much trouble speaking!!! Anyway, if I were the DJ at Hibs I would play this song every time the Old Firm come visiting next season.
"If only we could all find serenity, it would be nice if we could live as one, when will all this anger hate and bigotry be gone?"
Here, here Ozzy! You da man!! A totally amazing song, amazing and profound lyrics, will it go to number one? Not a chance! Oh well, I hope in years to come it is regarded in the same vein as "Imagine".
DVDs : THE BASTARDS! I went to the cinema to see Almost Famous last year and loved it, I went again and probably again. When the DVD came out, it wasn't exactly packed with extras (the main reason I buy DVDs) but cos I loved the film so much I bought it. Less than one year later, probably nearer six months, Almost Famous : Untitled has been released, this is in effect a special edition with a ton of extras and a "directors cut" of the movie, am I to be punished for supporting the movie? I bought the original DVD for about £20, £20 wasted if I want to own the directors "definitive" version of the movie, what a con! They are supposedly worried at the current level of piracy, well I got news for you guys, stop screwing us and it might come down! Harry Potter came out on DVD last month, I didn't buy it cos I guessed there would be another "adult" edition, less than a month later there are reports about what's gonna be on it.
Wow, that must be the longest rant I've done on here! If you are still reading, thank you for sticking with me. I'm gonna post the story of the whiskey tasting when I was on holiday in May soon (hopefully tomorrow). It is quite funny, for me anyway.

Return of the Andy.........
Righty, I have returned! Again! Many many things have been happening. Last weekend I was in Aberdeen visiting Ian. I had a great time, even thou it left me with a sore neck, so many thanks to Ian for a great time. Get yer arse down here mate and we'll have even more fun! I was on holiday from work this week, and I have tried to do a couple of things that I should have had finished a while ago. I'm programming a site for my mate Pete, and that is now ready for content to be added (c'mon Pete get yer finger out yer arse!). I met Kirsty B for a drink and a chat about The Supernaturals and it looks like we could have some good additions to the site. Kirsty has also sent me some cool email attachments (see below) Queen Mum Great Balls of Fire I am heading off on holiday next saturday, going to the Costa Del Aberfoyle :o), but it should be a week of alcohol, relaxation and reading. There were a couple of humourous things I was gonna say but I've forgotten now. cya next time.4.05.2002

Well, the commenting service has been very popular! NOT! The new version of Easy Life is now up! And can be found here! I am very pleased with it, so far. Speaking of websites, I got my regestration certificate for this domain through the post this week, so I suppose it's all legal now! LOL Anyway I'm off to chill and finish my novel, The Great Hunt, only 50 pages left!!!!!!! See ya!3.23.2002
New addition
As you will notice you can now leave comments about my journal, the service is provided by YACCS. I would like to know what any of you guy(s) think about my postings. Anyhow things have been weird the last few days (more on that when I feel up to it) and I am still busy, Pete's website is designed and just needs content added and I tried to go back to the beginning with Easy Life but it has been less successful than I hoped, the design is still good but I want to clean up the code and add a few features. I am viewing the version that is currently online as a sketch, all I need to do now is paint the masterpiece! LOL If you could have a look at it and leave a comment about any problems, I would be very greatful.3.21.2002
I've waited since last summer!!!!!!

Going to Ed's tomorrow to have tea, booze and watch Wrestlemania!!!!!! The Hulk has returned! :o) Found a great site, Friends Reunited, is an agency that reunites people from their school days. LOL BTW If anyone is wondering what the Thomson Media thing is all about, don't laugh I'm giving my mind a treat! Well I have programmed a page for a friend and been asked to design and build Pete's website, so why not pretend I have a web design start-up??? LOL It is a sad and twisted world that I inhabit!!! I cannot believe that Hibs sacked Franck Sauzee, we did not call him "Le God" for nothing. I am gutted, Hibs have lost a legend, and the board are too short sighted too see it. In other news, I now have an updating webcam!! :) Any how, the main page should refresh automatically.2.21.2002
Do you Thai Chi?????
Over at WWDN Wil was told of a lesson one of his readers learned from his Thai Chi master. He was told to write down seven things each day he is thankful for. I think this is a pretty good idea so here goes! 1. Falling asleep happy, thanks to V 2. I'm alive (never take that for granted!) 3. Music (especially the mighty Supernaturals!) 4. My Family 5. My freinds 6. Knowledge (I know, so, so lame but I am greatful for having some intelligence, do I? LOL) 7. V Why not leave your list at the Forum?
Hi-de-ho campers
Well well, what been happening? Had a interview with the police, the job seems perfect in every sense, really! So we wait and see. The interview seemed to go well, they were nice people and I managed to come across OK, I think. I visited June and Dave on Monday, it's was really great to catch up with them again. They are keeping well and seem so happy *dead chuffed*! BTW!!!!!! At last I have a positive vibe from JS, it seems that they are changing the shifts from 7-12 and 6-1 to 6-11 all week!!!!! Do you know how cool that is? :o) Why could our new manager not have started months ago? :o) So all seems well on the good ship Andy, and it could get better........................2.09.2002
The daily hum drum continues!
Nowt much happening, I got the shock of my life when I recieved a letter from the company I had the interview with on tuesday sent me a letter informing me of my failure to land the job. Plenty more fish in the sea.2.08.2002
Arrggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!
It is so shit being a Hibs fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a disgrace. As for the job hunting thing, I got a letter from the Lothian and Borders Police today inviting me to an interview next week. YEY!! I didn't think I stood a chance cos I felt I made a balls up of the application form. So here's hoping!2.06.2002
Shit, shit and more shit!
Well the interview today was a complete disaster! :o( It felt like I didn't know the answer to anything that they asked me, I must have sounded like a stupid first year student. It's a pity, they seemed like nice people and it looked like a good job. By the time they showed me round, I was well depressed. Well, I'll have to keep looking, you never know I may find my dream job tomorrow! LOL If I can figure out what job it is! Nowt much else happening, Hibs play Ayr tomorrow so fingers crossed for the right result!2.05.2002
Yeah Baby, YEAH!!!!!!
Well! Today marks another big step in my life. Today I have my first interview in my quest for a "professional" job. I am actually quite excited about it although it is guaranteed that I will be shitting bricks by 9am! :o) So here's the deal, if you read this before 9.15am on tuesday, can you send me a positive vibe at that time? That way I may actually nail the job and be able to afford to buy you a drink! :o))))))))) Cheers guys!!!!!!!!2.04.2002
To be or not to be!
As you will no doubt have noticed, I now have a message board. Please feel free to use it for whatever you want. You may also notice that I have started adding content to the about me page, I'm pretty usless and ran out of ideas, so help me out with suggestions please. :o)2.03.2002

Are you cool?
So much for me keeping this page updated! LOL How long did it last, a week? :o) OK, there ain't much going on in Andy-land (tm), really there ain't. I'm helping my grandad line the inside of his new garage but that really is about it. I have however got a new toy! I bought a webcam, so I have been have a laugh playing about with that. Wanna see me now, at 4.24am???? LOL Here goes!

1.24.2002
Am I a moaning git or what?
Hehe, well I have put some serious hours in on the websites and I now have a working version of the new Easy Life site. YEY!!! I'm quite excited about it, I think it looks the ba's! LOL There again Richard Ashcroft thought his first solo album was a masterpiece. So it may well be crap. LOL What else is going on??? Well Scotland is going to do a joint bid with our Irish pals for Euro 2008 (groovy) pity we couldn't go it alone but it would appear we don't have the means. Anyway, gotta go work on my "secret project"!1.21.2002
Can I be obscure?
I din't wanna get sued, so I'm gonna be quite vague about this. Let's just say I found the following video that looks like it stars a certain Aberdeen football club's manager. Get it yet? Anyway decide for yourself!!!! (here)1.20.2002
It wasn't supposed to be like this
I finished my uni work in August, the same day that I launched this site actually. So when I finished my project I thought I'd have so much time on my hands, I wanted to spend time on web programming, reading and redescovering my freinds! LOL Well it's now January and I realised I've done very little of that. So much for good intentions. I just realised how long the "redesign" of Easy Life has been in progress for months, why haven't I finished it? I really don't like the old site's "look" anymore and if I want it relaunched in time for the new album launch I've realised I'd better get my skates on. What else is going down? Well not much. I saw this pic on a friends website, go here to see Velvet's web page, there are more pics and poetry aswell. Anyhow here is the pic;

I feel sad!
It would appear that my only source of amusement in the last few days has come from Pete, is that sad? LOL Anyway have a look here and see why I was laughing.Bin Laden
Just heard rumours that OBL has died, I hope it hurt like hell ya evil bastard.
¡Reír de usted!
OK long time no blog!!! Below is a picture I recieved from Pete, cheers man, very funny! I haven't been writing much recently, have I? Well I sorta didn't have much to say and I've been busy on the computer at night ;o) (you know who you are!!) Priorities, y'know! LOL Anyway work still sucks, big time!!!! Jobs suppliement tommorow, so here's hoping. Going out for a curry with Ed on sunday evening, looking forward to that. Kebab Mahal, Nicolson Square, Edinburgh. My Uncle Khan's place and a better curry is not to be found anywhere, save India! LOL What else is there to tell? Well I am applying for a quite a few jobs, and the great thing is they all look great. Each seems to have it's own merits and points of interest for me. I'll let you know how I get on. Anyway here's that pic!!! Enjoy someone elses downfall.

The mighty Onan!!!
Further to my post about Onan earlier this week I have done some research and Eric was right, Onan was in the bible, in fact Jehova (god) killed him for masturbating!!!! Extreme punishment methinks! Anyway here is the passage from the bible; 38:8 And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and perform the duty of a husband's brother unto her, and raise up seed to thy brother. 38:9 And Onan knew that the seed would not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest he should give seed to his brother. 38:10 And the thing which he did was evil in the sight of Jehovah: and he slew him also. Thanks Eric, that gave me a good laugh.1.13.2002
You may call me Dole Mole
That's right, Dole Mole! Anyone in Scotland will know of "Chewin The Fat" for those who don't it is a comedy sketch show. Anyway one of the sketches, "And interpreting for the neds", has spawned a web page where you can find your very own ned name!!!! As you have probably figured out mine is "Dole Mole", go on and visit, what is your ned name? Thanks to Ed for the link.1.12.2002
Not that I have an athiest agenda!
I don't really, you are free to believe what you want and (within limits) worship the way you want. Anyway the following is reported as being said by a Vulcan in the unpublished Star Trek book "The God Thing" written by Gene Roddenberry. It just sums up part of the problem I have with the notion of a divine power. 'If this is your God, he's not very impressive. He's got so many psychological problems; he's so insecure. He demands worship every seven days. He goes out and creates faulty humans and then blames them for his own mistakes. He's a pretty poor excuse for a supreme being.' - Star Trek: The God Thing, written by Gene Roddenberry.
Forwarded e-mails
Here is an email that was forwarded to me, I'll put it here cos it's kinda long! Thanks to Fiona B for the email.
Ed comes out
LOL, well he has, to have a meal and watch a film. It's been a great night, had a lovely meal with my Mum and Ed and chatted to Vane later on. So no more grumpy Andy, untill I hit the diet with a vengence again. Last week was a bit of a downer (could you tell???) but next week is already looking better (dispite the fact I'm getting shafted by J Sainsbury's again!). Ed was absolutely knackered, you gotta feel sorry for him, he is being denied sleep by inconsiderate noisy neighbours. Supposedly TWO sets of his neighbours nocturnal (sp??) "activities" (y'know, of the adult kind) are keeping him awake. I told him the simple solution was to stop listening with a glass to the wall, he didn't seem to enthused at all by that idea.1.10.2002
Why can't I think of anything smart today?
Y'know through Christmas and New Year it feels like I worked my ass off. For example from Boxing Day to Friday 4th I had New Years Day off and that was it! The week before christmas I worked an extra hour every night. I also worked on two public holidays. Now for all that extra time, what did I get paid? £38!! What was the point! If I had worked it out I would have told him to shove the extra hours where the sun don't shine! And they have the cheek to ask me why I didn't look interested at work? Actually, when he asked me that I told him why, and, supposedly he was absolutely stunned. Basically I told him I hated the job and wanted out as soon as I could find a new one, and trust me the criteria for work are lowering all the time!!!!!! Y'know, maybe if he managed to change a few things there, I might enjoy my job! At my work, if you do not meet the ladies high standards (yeah right!!! as if they're that good!) you are bitched about and generally abused, in my bosses own words "there are a couple of wars going on". Now I am not the main recipient of most of this and I don't know how the poor girls that are can handle it. If you are not part of their clique (sp???) and do anything different from them they moan, if you get what is thought of as an easy job you are a target, indeed one of their own number had a "easy job" and had to put up with badgering and bitching about it. That's only the first point. If I am a few minutes late, the manager knows about it!! "He always the last in and first out". Well I have news for you! Just because you come in early and fart around at the end of your shift don't expect me too! I am paid from 7 till 12, I don't go in early on a point of principle because I was once told to be there for ten to the hour, not if you ain't paying me pal! Now that's fair enough, but what about certain members of the night shift? Who are supposed to start at ten, yet rarely start before 10.20?? And not a word is said to them, normally. One time the assistant manager collered one of them and was ignored, what d'you think would happen if I tried that? Tea-breaks! We get a fifteen minute tea break. Fair enough. 10.15:01 we normally have the Assistant Manager breathing down our necks to get back to work, fair enough. Then what about when that same manager goes back to the smoking room and my collegues there are allowed to stay and smoke with him? Does that sound fair? That's only a couple of my gripes and I've vitually vented my spleen!!!! But does that sound like a happy, team orientated enviroment? Last quote from my boss, "Morale on shift is lower than a pubic hair on a worm". Well said pal!!!1.09.2002
Jon Lee
My favorite "new" band of last year were Feeder, their third album Echo Park is amazing. So it was an utter shock to find out this morning that Feeder's drummer, Jon Lee, has died. What is it about music that destroys so many lives? Jon Lee, rest in peace.
Edwin Robert Garland BSc
Ed is one of my closest and dearest friends. He is, how can I put it, miffed that he hasn't come over in a good light so far and has been the butt of my humour. So he wants me to say something nice about him. One of the reasons for my doing this weblog is to try and improve my writing skills. However, I didn't think it would test my creative writing aswell!!!! All joking aside, I want to state for the record that Ed is a caring, thoughtful guy and a very close freind. THERE!!!! maybe he'll smile on friday! There again maybe the Pope is a Jew! :o)
Sons of Onan!!!
My job is so boring, literally complete crap! BUT it does have it's advantages, like tonight when I was talking to Eric. I almost fell over with shock! He told me about this character in the old testament, called Onan (not sure though), who was famous for "fiddling with himself", to quote Eric. Wanking in the bible????? So this is my homage to the worlds first recorded wanker! Onan, I salute you! You tosser!1.08.2002
Sad Day
Gordon and Sarah Brown's baby passed away on Monday evening. Words cannot describe how sorry I am for them. If you believe in a god please spare them a prayer.1.07.2002
I'm up for Enterprise!
Well today is the day I have been waiting for for months, the new Star Trek show (Enterprise) airs on Sky One. Getting quite excited about it, I'm going down to Ed's with a case of beer and some Highland Park :o) However it is almost guaranteed the git will go "I'm no feeling like it." ::whiney voice off:: :o) Never stopped me before though! Anyhow, I have to go get the BUS!!!!! I hate public transport! And get "festive" for the show!
Argentina
I have a close friend in Argentina and am therefore more fully aware of events there than I might have been. I dunno how much you know about the situation there (if you feel you don't know check out the BBC) but it is absolutely catastrophic, for example, the only public servants being paid are the police, as they defend the stores from looters, the health service is breaking down, pensioners are recieveing no pension and they had five presidents over Christmas. On top of that companies are witholding vital supplies in order to make a fortune when the peso is devalued. Isn't it sick that while others are suffering, companies still only think about profits. I also read today that the new President has been given powers to combat the crisis, which will include devaluation of the peso. This will almost immediately bankrupt a large number of people and businesses. Unemployement is roughly 20% get the picture of what it's like? OK so the main point of this post is please spare a thought for all the people suffering in the world and I don't doubt that the Argentinians aren't the worst off. We have such a comfortable life, what have we done to deserve it? I've done nothing that lifts me to this relative oppulance, how about you? The same is true about the post concerning Jennifer Brown (below), no matter who you are, pain and suffering can visit you. So he may be the sencond most powerful man in the UK but spare a thought for him and his family, please.
Baby Brown
Anyone who knows me will know that by no means am I a supporter of the Labour Party, however, the effect of fatherhood on Gordon Brown has astounded me. The guy is radiant, something I'd never have imagined possible. That makes it even more sad that Jennifer (his daughter) is seriously ill, she has obviously had such a dramatic effect on his outlook on life. I dunno really what I want to say here other than that I dearly hope she makes it through this terrible event in her short life. I saw on the news that she has been baptised in hospital, surely this is a worrying sign. Gordon Brown has moved into a different light for me in the past week, I hope his daughter has even half of his strength.1.06.2002
